First steps in your career: your work placement at ZÜBLIN.

Combining theory and practice. During your degree.

Do you want to put the knowledge you’ve gained at university to the test and put it into practice? Are you drawn to exciting projects? Then become an intern at an international construction technology group. Gain your first insights into professional practice: support our experienced site and project managers directly on site, or deepen your business knowledge at one of our office locations. Ask questions of those who know their stuff and learn something new every day. Together with ZÜBLIN, you’ll kick-start your future. 

Compulsory work placement or voluntary work placement?

Generally speaking, a distinction is made between compulsory work placements and voluntary work placements during a degree course. The compulsory work placement is an integral part of the study programme and may vary in length and timing depending on the course or university – a duration of one to three months is common.  

If you wish to undertake a voluntary work placement, you can set the timeframe yourself. We recommend a duration of at least two to three months so that you can gain a realistic impression of a potential future workplace. An optional work placement is a good option if you have already gained some theoretical experience and acquired some specialist knowledge.

Getting a taste of the building trade. Whilst at school.

Would you like to find out what everyday life on a building site is like and how an apprenticeship at ZÜBLIN works? Through our school leavers’ work experience programme, you’ll gain fascinating insights into careers such as civil engineer, architect or architectural draughtsman – and you’ll be able to get stuck in yourself. A dedicated mentor will support you and help you discover the right construction career for you.

  • Work experience whilst at school

    Work experience days during school hours are considered school-related activities. A school work placement usually lasts two weeks. To take part, you’ll need to send us an application and prepare for your placement during lessons.

    You won’t receive a salary during this time, as you are not in an employment relationship with us. This work placement focuses on gaining experience and trying things out.

  • Work experience outside school hours

    Of course, you can also do your work placement at ZÜBLIN outside school hours – for example, during the holidays or as a bridge between school and further education. Our doors are also open to university dropouts who are looking to change direction. 

    As part of this work placement, you’ll be given an employment contract and, with it, a salary from us. This is based on the current collective agreement.

  • Good to know

    We look out for you: During your school work placement, the Youth Employment Protection Act applies to you. This Act sets out the maximum daily working hours permitted, depending on your age. This means that your working hours and break arrangements differ from those of adults.
