Our application process

Are you wondering what happens next once we’ve received your application? We’ll walk you through the steps between submitting your application and the final decision. That way, you’ll know what to expect next even before you send off your documents.

1. Screening of documents
Have you spotted a vacancy? Great! We’d love to receive your online application via our careers portal. Once we’ve received your application, you’ll get an automatic confirmation by email. We’ll now carefully assess whether your skills and experience match the job profile. Your CV, relevant certificates and references, and, if applicable, a covering letter will help us to form an initial impression of you.
2. Feedback on the application
We’ll get back to you by phone or email within a few days – ideally with an invitation to meet up and get to know one another. If necessary, we can clarify any outstanding questions and discuss the next steps.
3. First job interview
Let’s get to know each other! During an initial interview (in person or online), both you and we will have the opportunity to get to know each other better. You’ll receive more detailed information about the role and find out what sets us apart as an employer. We’re also looking forward to finding out more about you and your career.
4. Second interview
Was the initial meeting a positive experience for both sides? Then let’s move on to round two! This gives both you and us another opportunity to get a more comprehensive picture of each other through a more in-depth discussion and to see whether we’re still a good fit. It’s also a chance to discuss any outstanding questions and details.
5. Supportive measures in recruitment
Where appropriate, it may be beneficial for us – and for you too – to incorporate supportive measures into the application process. This might involve, for example, you getting to know the team and your potential workplace, us carrying out a behavioural profile analysis*, or – depending on the role – apre-employment screening. In any case, we will of course discuss this with you beforehand.
6. Welcome to the team!
Once both sides have had enough time to consider whether we’re a good fit, we’ll let you know our decision as soon as possible. Two ‘yes’es? Then you’ll receive an offer from us and we look forward to welcoming you as a new team member at ZÜBLIN.

Let’s progress!

*What is a behavioural profile analysis (BPA)?
The VPA is a tool designed to support the recruitment process. It provides a comprehensive analysis of an individual’s strengths in the workplace, their anxieties, motivational factors and values. The analysis also includes information on how people perform under pressure and in stressful situations.

Recruiters Answer Questions

In this format, our recruiters will answer your questions about applications, interviews and the decision-making process:

Your start at ZÜBLIN.

It’s great that we’re building a better future together! To ensure your start at ZÜBLIN goes as smoothly as possible, here’s an overview of our onboarding process.

Before your first day.

We’ll stay in touch. There’s often a bit of time between signing your employment contract and your first day with us. We’ll try to use this time to welcome you and send you some information in advance. We know that changing jobs or starting a new career is often an emotional experience. That’s why we want to offer you as much guidance and support as we can, so that your start with us
goes as smoothly as possible.

We’ll keep you updated – and let you know the meeting point, time and who your contact person will be on your first day with us. Before your first day, you’re also welcome to find out more about ZÜBLIN; you can find further information here on our careers page. Before you start with us, we’ll of course sort out your work equipment. Whether it’s a desk, a laptop and an access card, or safety clothing – we’ll get everything ready so that you can start your new role at ZÜBLIN straight away.

On your first day.

Let’s go! On your first day, it’s important to us that you get to know your team, who will be on hand to answer any questions you may have. It’s just as important that you have a chat with your line manager. We’ll also walk you through your induction programme in detail. This is to ensure you gain the knowledge you’ll need for your role with us.

To help you find your feet, you’ll find a dedicated induction page on the intranet with further information and guidance for your first few weeks at ZÜBLIN. We also offer interactive e-learning modules covering the Group’s history, health and safety, compliance and other topics relevant to you.

After my first few months at ZÜBLIN.

How are you finding things? Once you’ve completed your induction and the first few weeks are behind you, we’d love to hear from you about how you’re getting on and whether you’ve settled into your role and your team. Any requests, praise or criticism? Let us know! Shortly before the end of your probationary period, you’ll have an open feedback meeting with your line manager to review your first few months. This is how we aim to build a positive working relationship based on mutual respect, where everyone is satisfied.
